CASTOR WHEELS

Timex India manufactures attractive, lightweight, and durable wheels, that have numerous applications. Some of the latest castor wheel manufacturing, design and fabrication technologies are:

Polymer castor wheel:

Polyurethane tread is injection molded and bonded mechanically to a polyolefin core. This wheel is most widely used in almost every industry, which employs light to medium duty castors & wheels. Both materials are wear resistant, and are impermeable to water, resistant to oils, grease, solvents, and thus used in commercial, industrial, and food services applications. Polyurethane is non-marking regardless of the color, and offers smooth motion, with floor protection and high capacity ratings. Polyurethane castor wheels have a working temperature range o f -45 to +180 Degrees F. These castor wheels are available in varying sizes, ranging from 2 x 13/16 to 12 x 3, and are available in a variety of colors, designs and bearing configurations. Because of their sanitary properties, and resistance to grease, cleaners and solvents, polymer castor wheels are widely used in the food services and institutional industries.

Permanently lubricated ball-bearing:

The latest castor manufacturing technology also features, a double-lipped sealed, permanently lubricated ball-bearing design. This is a low-maintenance, non-greaseable design, which saves the cost of grease and obviates manual labor needed for greasing the bearings. The advantage of the double lip design provides an effective protection from water and dirt intrusions.

Castor Wheels are constantly tested against the elements by immersing the component in various slurry solutions to ensure the design's effectiveness against intrusions.

Pneumatic Tires

Basically, a pneumatic tire is made of reinforced rubber and filled with compressed air and can be seen conceptually an equivalent of an industrial-grade forklift tire. This tire features heavier wall construction, which has been proved to last longer than ordinary castor tires.

It is due to the fact that, pneumatic tires lower the point of resultant stress on castor wheel components, thus reducing the number of breaking points. Also higher pressure in such tires, maintained due to compressed air, provides a tighter seal around the rim, which resists dirt and moisture to enter between the tire and the rim.

Foam-filled Tires
These tires are used on such castor wheels, which have been designed to carry heavier loads. In foam-filled tires, a foam is injected into the castor tires for a softer, cushier ride, without impairing the efficiency and strength of the tire. It is a procedure similar to that used in ambulance tires to provide a smoother ride at higher speeds.
